Safety Direct Galway International Rally 2008

Safety Direct, a Galway based company supplying first-rate health and safety products nationwide, are proud and delighted to be announced as the primary sponsor of the “Safety Direct Galway International Rally 2008”. The Galway International Rally has taken place over the past number of years, drawing huge crowds of spectators and big names from the rallying sector to Galway for the event. Safety Direct are taking part as the main sponsor of the rally for the first time this year. Commenting on the upcoming event, Safety Direct spokesperson Alan Fair stated, “This is a very exciting event for Safety Direct to become involved with. An occasion of this scale is wonderful for Galway city and county and we are only too happy to be a part of it”.

This year’s Safety Direct Galway International Rally will be launched on Friday 18th January in the Clayton Hotel. Rally headquarters will once again be situated at the Clayton Hotel in Ballybrit, Galway. A number of rally cars will be on display outside the Clayton Hotel on January 18th and a number of the top drivers in Irish Motorsport will be making an appearance on the night!

This year’s rally takes place from Friday, February 1st to Sunday, February 3rd 2008. The 2008 Safety Direct Galway International Rally is, as last year, the opening round of The Global Group Irish Tarmac Rally Championship. Entries for the event will open shortly and be submitted online via the Galway International website, www.galwayinternational.com. The new online system should speed up the entry process and benefit both the organisers and competitors. The closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday January 11th 2008.

The Galway Motor Club, organisers of the rally, are pleased to have Safety Direct on board as their main sponsor. Ultan Burke spokesperson for the Galway Motor Club stated, “Safety Direct are an ideal sponsor for the Galway International Rally. They are a well-established local company with a great interest in the sport and carry a huge range of quality products and equipment. They even have a large range of Road Safety products which is entirely complementary for this event.” As well as being the main sponsor of the event, Safety Direct have a personal interest in the rally as they are sponsoring two cars taking part in the event.
